Ottoman Slap
A comedy dealing with the adventures of two janissaries who dream of becoming the first person to raise the Ottoman standard on Byzantine ramparts, and are suddenly teleported to the present day.
It all begins on 28 May 1453, the day before the conquest of Istanbul. Messieurs Doğan and Şahin are two janissaries of completely opposite characters, recruited in the Ottoman army, which has reached the ramparts of Constantinople. The only thing they have in common is their dream of becoming the first soldier to raise the the Ottoman standard on the ramparts. But the course of events takes a surprising turn.
Bickering continuously, Doğan and Şahin quit their posts. This misstep will have bad consequences because the evil Alexandros, whose only wish is to slay Mehmet the Conqueror at all costs, has risen from the dark depths of Byzantium. Alexandros, who is even willing to sacrifice his own beautiful daughter Konstantina for this cause, makes his escape before he can succeed in his murderous plot, but Doğan and Şahin cannot flee from the gaze of his Excellency Akşamsettin. Pleading for mercy for having quit their posts, they implore Akşamsettin for one more chance. His Excellency Akşamsettin grants them a once in a lifetime oppurtunity by asking them to “follow the white rabbit”… And thus sends them to the century of opportunities, the 21st century…
